I hope you're right about a corner being turned but I think it's going to be at a snail's pace. Fully expecting the minimizing of Lauterbach's statement in the meantime, however. Unless of course it becomes the official narrative and then all the minimizing talking heads are going to claim they always had suspicions about COVID's long term damage.

Basically I wouldn't be surprised at either doubling down or a flurry of human pretzels.

Thank you for brilliantly articulating the truth in all it’s painful scope and depth! I very much wish that the tide in regards to gaslighting and minimizing is turning. I still have doubts … anecdotally no one I know knew or was interested in the Davos revelations and/or the German minister’s admission. Denial ( of outright delusional strength) is very hard to overcome- especially as the global mass phenomenon that it has become. Thank you, though!!!

It is very difficult to ‘like’ an essay with such a horrific message, but it is great work, and the only way to convey that to you in brief is the ‘like’ button. I wonder what the emoji would look like that signifies ‘fighting off despair but grimly gratified to read the truth’. No ideas here.

Having had a liver transplant in 2006 due to an autoimmune disease in addition to being the recipient of 5 additional autoimmune diseases, I have been observing with beyond-frustrated bemusement the mishandling of this pandemic. Before and after ascertaining that I was unable to generate Covid antibodies via the vaccine (through a seminal Johns Hopkin's study), my wife and I have diligently avoided exposure. As a climate change writer, my heart had already been broken by our specie's inability/unwillingness to look truth in the face and take appropriate measures. Our collective overshoot-and-hubris was, of course, inevitably going to bring the chickens home to roost. And here we are.

Thank you for saying what needs to be said. I am sure there will be backlash at you. Nevertheless I love your writing and appreciate your honesty which is a rare thing nowadays.

I don't know, Jessica. I have always tried to proceed from a "precautionary principle" point of view, always kinda hoping (there's that word again) that I would be wrong. There is no comfort to be had for me that the worst of all possible outcomes is the one we will have to live with. It makes me wonder if human civilization is going to make it to 2030 in a form we would recognize today.

Excellent. Thanks so much for this. Your posts are really encouraging, and I don't mean that in a wishful thinking or hopium kind of way.

I sincerely hope you’re right. I’ve spent so many days going “I really think we should be protecting ourselves from Covid. And we are. But I also feel crazy bc NO ONE gives a f. Wouldn’t people in power be doing things to protect themselves if they knew this info”. turns out they are.

It’s been so hard. Not seeing family, not doing social events, it’s been hard on our kids. It would be very welcome if the reality of the situation claimed the narrative. Relief is such an accurate feeling IF this represents a change in the tides.

Ms Wildfire, doesn’t “Germany is scrapping mask mandates on long train rides” convey that German officials have and will continue to ignore their own minister’s scientific data and results? I must be missing something here... OTH, I have noticed more marginally mainstream discussion recently about COVID ruining peoples’ immune systems. However, such discussions remind me of the ever present msm downplaying’s of climate science by the gaslighting phrases re “the science is still inconclusive, blah, blah, blah.” Hopium always get the last words in global warming and COVID “news” discussions, IMO.

I don’t share your optimism on “leaders” admitting and slowly addressing the failure but i’m with ya’ on the rest. Hopefully you are right. 🤞🏻

I’ve been hopeful before. I’ll just continue to stand over here in my mask and vax power and see how it goes 🤞🏻 Many in my circle will have a very hard time admitting that choices were wrong. There’s a real fuck it energy of “I’m going to live my/our lives”, especially from those who have had Covid - “mild” or otherwise and haven’t seen the impact personally. Yet.

I can't let this go. It's "the jig is up".

One thing I’m curious about is the people who seem immune to COVID. The ones who stay healthy even as members of their household get sick repeatedly, that sort of thing. Are they actually immune? If so, is it luck of the antibodies? Some mutation in the ACE receptors? Crossover protection from exposure to previous coronaviruses? Or are they not actually immune and incurring invisible damage despite no clinical illness?

I fear you are too optimistic. our leaders won't acknowledge it at all.

when they do it will be "immunity debt"

Every journey must start with a single step, and it seems like this health minister may well be a first step. The question is, how far is the journey? Will it be a 100m sprint? Or a marathon? Or longer?

I've never heard of the Self-Transcendence 3,100 miles race until googling right now. Maybe it has never been broadcast on mainstream media. 3100 miles. I wonder if we have taken on step in this race.

Perhaps this health minister will get the same treatment from media as the Self-Transcendence 3,100 mile race. There is a good chance very few will hear what he has to say.

The vested interests that will try to keep things as normal are massively powerful.

I personally feel that the USD has to fail before Covid precautions are introduced. This is because of the Petrodollar. If you have never heard of that then Google: bitcoin magazine hidden cost of the petrodollar.

In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, the oil price went into freefall. The US dollar is dependant on oil. If oil sales drop, or if payments for oil are made in non US currency then the US dollar will fail. Anything that threatens oil threatens the US dollar from being the world's reserve currency. It's the reason that Kuwait was invaded when Saddam started selling oil in Euros. Its reason that Ukraine is at war on behalf of the US, because gas was being sold in ruble. And its the reason that the US is so hellbent on creating a war with China, because they are buying oil and paying with Chinese Yuan

Lockdowns threaten the USD's role as world reserve currency. Anything remotely close to steering the narrative towards protections threatens oil demand, and therefore the USD.

The Great Barrington declaration was sponsored by oil money as described on exposedbycmd.org in 2021.

The Fox / Murdoch press consistently demonizes "lockdown lovers".

The anti-vax / freedum crew are just convenient and easily manipulated minds that provide support. The anti-vax sentiment is closely aligned with anti-lockdown sentiment in the name of freedom. Aligned media play along because any pandemic precaution (masks, testing, case numbers) moves the narrative closer towards precautions (which they call restrictions) which are the only path to lockdowns.

The inescapable conclusion to all of this is: the only way out of the pandemic (and the climate crisis) is for the USD to fail as world reserve currency… and that may well happen https://twitter.com/CGMeifangZhang/status/1606332147954073600

Thanks Jessica. Excellent essay as usual. But having witnessed so many curve balls of obfuscation makes me cautiously optimistic about time frames.
